Training Program Details

ADA Training & Certification Program

Full Description
The Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) requires employers with 15 or more employees to provide qualified individuals with disabilities an equal opportunity to benefit from the full range of employment-related opportunities available to others. The ADA prohibits discrimination in recruitment, hiring, training, promotions, pay, social activities, and other privileges of employment. The ADA also restricts questions that can be asked about an employee disability and requires employers to make certain reasonable accommodations. The ADA Training & Certification Program covers these specifics in detail and provides suggestions for avoiding ADA violations. The Program also reviews how to integrate ADA compliance with other applicable laws. Besides the basics, you will also learn how to: - Identify a mental or physical impairment that is an ADA disability - Know when disability-related inquires are appropriate - Offer and implement reasonable accommodations - Understand when an employer may require medical examinations

Outcomes:

This course contains numerous End Of Lesson Quizzes to help you measure your progress and mastery of the materials. You can also earn a "Certified ADA Administrator" designation!

Besides the basics, you will also learn how to:

  • Identify a mental or physical impairment that is an ADA disability

Certification tests are comprised of 50 randomly-generated questions that are mostly multiple choice, scenario-based questions that test the students ability to apply the learned content. A score of 85 or higher is required to earn a Certification.

Note: The Certification Test is an optional feature that is included with the Program at no extra charge. Users who want the "Certificate" simply take the Test after completing the Training portion of the Program. Users who do not need or want a Certificate are not required to test.

The ADA Training & Certification Program

The Americans with Disabilities Act, or "ADA", prohibits discrimination in recruitment, hiring, training, promotions, pay, social activities, and other privileges of employment. The ADA also restricts questions that can be asked about a disability and requires employers to make certain "reasonable accommodations".

The ADA is applicable to employers with 15 or more employees. These employers are required to provide qualified individuals with disabilities an equal opportunity to benefit from the full range of employment-related opportunities available to others.

As a human resources representative and benefits professional, navigating the specifics of the ADA and the EEOC guidance documents can be daunting and time-consuming.

Our ADA Training & Certification Program covers these specifics in detail and provides numerous suggestions for providing "reasonable accommodation" and avoiding ADA violations. The Program also reviews how to integrate ADA compliance with other applicable laws such as the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

You can test to earn a "Certified ADA Administrator" designation upon completion of the Program. This online course also qualifies for eight hours of PHR and SPHR re-certification credits!

The course curriculum has numerous tips, examples, and procedural recommendations that are interspersed with interactive Q and A sessions so you are confident that you are learning and where your strengths and weaknesses lie. Our "Bookmark" feature also lets you learn at your own pace, and gives you the ability to review previously completed material.

Besides the basics, you will also learn how to:

Identify a mental or physical impairment that is an ADA disability
Know when disability-related inquires are appropriate
Offer and implement reasonable accommodations
Understand when an employer may require medical examinations

Organizations enrolling three or more individuals also receive our Management Interface at no cost.

This interface lets managers view employee progress, test scores, and any incorrectly answered test questions - great for remedial training! (Ask for more details)

Who Should Use The ADA Training & Certification Program?

The ADA Training & Certification Program is ideal for human resources professionals and HR managers who handle day-to-day ADA administration. It is also good for Third Party Administrators, HR Managers, or CFOs who seek satisfaction knowing that their administrators are properly trained and up to date on ADA issues. Individuals looking to add value to their job experience can earn the valued "Certified ADA Administrator" designation.

As opposed to ADA Plan seminars, workshops, or conferences, our ADA Training & Certification Program provides easy and continued access to content at any time of the day or night. You also get updates any time the laws change, so you know you always have the most current and up to date information. An annual renewal cost of only $99 gains you continued access to content, updates, and a new "Certified ADA Administrator" certificate each year(ask your instructor for details)

Course Testimonials

"These Training & Certification Programs are excellent tools for training both new and experienced administrators. The Program is well designed and very easy to use. We highly recommend them to all of our clients." - Gary Mosiman

"The COBRA Training & Certification Program is providing my staff with an excellent foundation for understanding and applying the complex and often confusing COBRA regulations. It is amazing how many times, as I was studying through the material, that a question raised by one of the staff was the very issue I read the day before. Having completed the material, I am much better prepared to answer the inquiries of our clients and their COBRA participants." - Dana Hofseth

"I truly enjoyed being able to take the Training & Certification Program right at my own computer! My schedule is very busy and it was nice being able to study and test on my timeline. Thank you for providing this service!" - Sandra Wilcox
