ITS254 - Apache Web Services and Database Connectivity
Course description
The Apache course will teach you how to configure an Apache Web Server environment. In the Apache course, you will install and configure the Apache web server to provide stable, secure web service for multiple sites and explore the complete web platform suitable for ISPs, Internet/intranet and e-commerce solutions. You will also be introduced to the concepts on how to configure a database server environment using several server side programming techniques.

System administrators, analysts or programmers who need to maintain and administer Apache Web Servers.
Prerequisites
A basic working knowledge of UNIX or Linux commands and file editing techniques. Familiarity with web technologies is recommended.

Learn to identify and acquire the latest version of Apache, Download, and Configure and Compile the HTTPD, Modify the automatic startup and shutdown of the web server
Configuring Multiple Apache Web Sites on a server
Practice creating and managing multiple virtual web sites, making content available offline
Securing Apache
Determine different methods for limiting access to web servers by the ip address, host name and other security methods, Establish and monitor the Apache Server log files

Enable Server side info and Server Status Handlers, Enable CGI and Perl Scripts

Download install and configure PHP 4, Enable Apache for PHP 4

Install and configure MySQL from Source code, Install the Perl Database connector,
Creating Database Resources, Implementing MySQL enabled version of Web sites
