Corporate Education Group

Our intensive six-day boot camp will prepare you to become a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA.) We use Cisco Authorized Curriculum sponsored by Element K, a Cisco Learning Solutions Partner, supplemented with many custom hands-on labs and additional preparation materials. Our instructors are Cisco authorized and have many years of experience working with Cisco products, both in the field and in the classroom. The Cisco routers and switches that you will be working with are resident in the classroom, and each student will be provided with equipment dedicated to his or her use for the duration of the boot camp. Students will have access to practice exams throughout the course in order to gauge their progress and determine which areas require further study.

Course Hours
Class runs from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM from Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Friday, and 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday.

Reading lists to assist students in preparation prior to class start
 Frequently asked questions
 Links to additional resources

Participation in our boot camps requires a committed effort before, during, and sometimes after your boot camp classroom training. The Online Resource Center is available throughout the process to help you achieve your certification goals.

Preclass preparation and online resources
Preclass preparation is essential to your success in this certification program. Prior to the start of class, you will receive materials and instructions on how to prepare. In addition, you will receive access to our Online Resource Center, which provides access to detailed course information and additional preparation resources. Access to instructors via discussion forums and private question forms is also provided. Proper preparation will enhance your success rate, and we want to ensure that all of your questions are answered and that you are fully prepared when class begins.

Testing
The CCNA Exam (640-801) can be taken on the last day of class. If you attend at least 90% of the class, an additional voucher will be provided should you fail the exam on this first attempt. In the event that you don t feel ready to take the exam on the last day of class, a voucher will be provided to allow you to take the exam at a later date.

Satisfaction guarantee
You may retake this course free of charge, not including testing fees and the cost of courseware, for up to six months after the class. You must bring the courseware from the original class with you, or if the courseware has been updated, you must purchase the new courseware.

Who should attend
Individuals who posses a strong general networking background and basic Cisco IOS command line skills, and are interested in achieving CCNA certification. If your goal is not CCNA certification, consider CNA102: Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices (ICND). CNA102 covers similar material, without the added focus on exam preparation.

Prerequisites
Prior to attending class, students should have knowledge equivalent to Cisco s Introduction to Cisco Networking Technologies (INTRO) curriculum, including knowing how to:

Create a simple point-to-point network and describe network components and functions
 Create a simple Ethernet network
Expand an Ethernet LAN by adding a hub
Connect multiple networks by creating a default gateway
Calculate valid IP addresses and subnet masks
Describe the functions and operations of the network and transport layers of the IP protocol stack
Define the characteristics, functions, and components of a WAN
 Configure Cisco IOS devices
 Manage devices on a network

Boston University offers CNA101: Introduction to Cisco Networking Technologies (INTRO), which can help you meet this requirement. Please refer to the course outline for CNA101 for a full list of prerequisites.

What you will achieve
Enhanced knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol stack and IP subnetting
Cisco IOS command-line skills on a variety of Cisco routers and switches
Experience selecting and configuring routing protocols
Knowledge of how to control network traffic flow using access lists
Background in NAT and PAT configurations
Hands-on configuration of Frame Relay and ISDN
You will have the opportunity to take the CCNA Exam (640-801) on the last day of class
