Before attending this course, students must have:

CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent knowledge
 
CompTIA Network+ certification or equivalent knowledge 

And either:

Completed course MSC2208, Upgrading Your Skills from Microsoft Windows NT to Microsoft WindowsServer 2003
 

Or, completed course MSC2273, Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment

Or, completed both of the following courses:

MSC2274, Managing a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment
 
MSC2275, Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment

Or, have knowledge of the following Microsoft Windows technologies: NTFS file system permissions, sharing folders and share permissions, and a basic understanding of Active Directory 2000 or Active Directory 2003.

Module 2: Adding Hardware to Windows XP Professional Clients

This module teaches students how to install new hardware devices as well as how to configure and maintain existing devices and their drivers. Students will also learn how to roll device drivers back to a previous version of the driver and to uninstall drivers and devices.

In this module, students will learn how to configure and customize user desktops, use profiles to implement and enforce desktop customization policies, and use Remote Assistance to respond to remote requests for help.
