Training Provided by Boston University Corporate Education Center

Students are introduced to the fundamental operation, terminology, and organization of the personal computer. The basic structures of microprocessors, memory, buses, input/output, expansion slots and cards, mass storage, and peripherals are covered. Students are exposed to the basic concepts of operating systems, operating environments, and software applications. In learn-by-doing labs, students work directly with hardware, identifying components and assembling and disassembling the PC. Students are introduced to more detailed aspects of the PC and explore basic troubleshooting skills, tool usage, and problem identification.
