Course description
This course prepares project managers for the Project Management Professional (PMP®) Certification Exam offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI®). You will be able to develop your own custom study plan that increases your chances of successfully passing the exam. This course is 100% compliant with the Project Management Institute’s (PMI’s®) current Project Management Body of Knowledge® (PMBOK® Guide, Third Edition).
Who should attend
Anyone who has at least three years of experience working in a project-oriented environment, has already completed a rigorous Project Management certificate or self-study program and wants a compressed, targeted approach toward preparing for the PMP® Exam should attend this class.
This course alone is not adequate preparation for the PMP Certification Exam. This course is but one component of the student’s preparation for taking the exam.
What you will achieve
An understanding of the PMP® Certification Exam registration requirements and process
An orientation to the concepts and format of the PMP® Certification Exam, including a review of question breakdown by Process Group
An opportunity to take a 100-question practice exam modeled after questions encountered on the PMP® Certification Exam
Identification of key areas for further development in order to create a personal learning plan to improve performance in these areas
A review of studying and test-taking techniques
What you will learn
Project Integration Management – developing the project charter, preliminary scope statement, and project plan, directing and managing the execution of the project, monitoring and controlling the project, overall change control and closing the project
Project Scope Management - planning, defining, creating a WBS, verifying deliverables and controlling project scope
Project Time Management – defining, sequencing, and estimating activity resources and durations, schedule development and control

Project Procurement Management – planning purchases and contracting, requesting seller responses, selecting sellers, administering and closing contracts
After taking the practice exam, you may use the results to develop a custom study plan. You can use the online features and learning styles to review concepts. You may practice your knowledge by accessing multiple quizzes and a final exam. Course support from an instructor is provided via e-mail.
Each concept is sequenced dynamically to allow learners to take different pathways represented by the different learning styles. This content follows the following learning styles: Step-by-Step and Active Learning, depending on the learner's choice. The switch is seamless, allowing effective pedagogy and motivation throughout the course.
Step-by-Step: Takes the student through the content step-by-step, first explaining the principles, then applying the tools and techniques. Students are presented with interactive reviews at the end of each concept.
Active Learning: Students reinforce course concepts by using interactive simulations.
