- M asked: Hello, I am a social worker who works with women who have been battered. My role is to help women identify goals and to move on past the violence into their next steps---work, school, permanent housing, etc. I would like to refer a client to an assertiveness training and am shopping around for what is available here in Boston. Can you please send me information about any trainings you have related to assertiveness and/or conflict resolution. I am also interested in finding out about the possibility of a sliding scale for your programs and/or scholarships available. women that I work with have very few resources as they struggle to get back on their feet. If your programming can allow for it, you would be doing a great service to offer the training to these women at low or no cost. Many of the women have next to zero experience in how to assert themselves or negotiate middle ground, simply based on the violence they have faced in their interpersonal histories.
