An integrated approach makes perfect sense. Alexander Technique is better known as a method for dealing with the aches and strains of modern life - posture, bad backs, stress management etc. F. M. Alexander was, in fact, an actor who experienced voice and breathing problems on stage. He returned to the stage free of vocal difficulties following a seven year period of self-observation. When he first started teaching he dealt exclusively with singers and actors. Only later on did he realise that his technique had an application to most facets of daily life. Alexander Technique teachers use a combination of gentle manual guidance and verbal coaching to help their pupils bring about increasing ease and poise in their everyday activities - including the use of the spoken and sung voice. Alan Mars offers in-house lessons throughout the UK. Individual lessons and open courses are available in Brighton and Hove (East Sussex, BN3) and in London (Camden, NW1 and Islington, N1) Alan has been teaching Alexander Technique, Voice and singing since 1982. He has taught in some of London's top drama and music schools. He has also taught Alexander Technique combined with public speaking and presentation skills in many top international businesses.
