In this course you will learn about standard circuit-switching networks as opposed to packet-switching networks such as the Internet. Increasingly telephony represents the convergence of voice networks as well as data networks such as the Internet.

Audience
The target audience for this curriculum is an individual interested in pursuing or advancing a convergence technologies career. Voice and telephony technicians networking administrators field technicians and others within supplier channel and end-user organizationas all benefit from being CTP certified. This curriculum would also benefit anyone taking advanced vendor-neutral or product-specific certification programs.
Prerequisites
In this course you will learn about Telephony signaling and maintenance as well as telephony integration and troubleshooting. Learners will engage with different signaling types and learn some fundamentals of computer telephony integration.

Minimum Requirements
The CDROM version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
- At least a double speed CDROM drive.
- An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently only the CDROM version supports audio).
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
