Audience
Six months previous experience in an IT project-intensive environment or six months experience managing IT projects.
Objective
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Identify features of a work breakdown structure.
- Identify methods for resource scheduling and acquisition.
- Identify the critical path from a network diagram.
- Identify quality standards for the project and how to achieve them.
- Identify requirements for project integration management.

Unit 1: Prepare for Planning
- Identify features of activity definition and sequencing.
- Identify ways of calculating activity duration estimates.
- Identify characteristics of a Gantt chart.
- Identify the critical path from a network diagram.
- Simulation Overview.
Unit 2: The Project Management Plan
- Identify methods for resource scheduling and acquisition.
- Identify requirements for communication planning.
- Identify requirements for procurement and solicitation planning.
- Identify the need for performance measurement baselines.
- Simulation Overview.
Unit 3: Project Execution
- Identify components of solicitation and contract administration.
- Identify characteristics of human resource management in project management.
- Identify how to calculate cost and schedule variance.
- Identify how to generate status reports.
- Simulation overview.

Minimum Requirements
The CDROM version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
- At least a double speed CDROM drive.
- An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently only the CDROM version supports audio).
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
