Audience
Six months previous experience in an IT project-intensive environment or six months experience managing IT projects.
Objective
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Identify the difference between quantitative and qualitative risk analysis.
- Identify techniques used for planning monitoring and controlling risk.
- Identify guidelines for performance reporting.
- Identify guidelines for archiving projects.
- Identify factors that lead to project failure.

Unit 1: Scope Schedule and Cost

- Identify the factors involved in schedule control.
- Identify guidelines for shortening a project schedule.
- Identify guidelines for using the project variables to control the effects of scope change.

Unit 2: Quality Risk and Performance
- Identify features of quality management.
- Identify guidelines for managing risk.
- Identify techniques used for planning monitoring and controlling risk.
- Identify the purpose of performance reporting.
- Simulation Overview.
Unit 3: Project Completion
- Identify how administrative closure applies to projects.
- Identify the purpose of the a Closeouta and a Lessons Learneda reports.
- Identify steps for carrying out contract closure.
- Identify when to terminate a project.
- Identify factors that lead to project failure.
- Simulation Overview.

Minimum Requirements
The CDROM version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
- At least a double speed CDROM drive.
- An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently only the CDROM version supports audio).
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
