Course Overview: This is the fourth course of five that teaches 11i System Administrators the concepts and fundamentals of their role. It concentrates on Flexfields. The first unit covers the basics of Flexfields and defining value sets. Key Flexfield definition and management is covered in units two and three. The fourth unit covers defining Descriptive Flexfields. The course closes with coverage of advanced validation options.

- Define a key flexfield (KFF).
- Identify core features of key flexfields (KFFs) and their uses within Oracle Applications.
- Identify features of key flexfield (KFF) qualifiers.
- Identify uses of key flexfield (KFF) capabilities.
- Identify guidelines for planning the design of key flexfields (KFFs).
- Identify the steps involved in defining a key flexfield (KFF).
Unit 3: Descriptive Flexfields
- Identify the steps in descriptive flexfield (DFF) definition.
- Define a descriptive flexfield (DFF).
- Identify considerations for using descriptive flexfield (DFF) components.
- Identify guidelines for specifying segment attributes.
- Identify features of descriptive flexfields (DFFs).
Unit 4: Advanced Validation Capabilities
- Use a table to validate a descriptive flexfield (DFF) segment.
- Create a descriptive flexfield (DFF) that uses cascading dependencies to validate values.
- Identify guidelines for validating tables.

Minimum RequirementsThe CDROM version of this course requires:
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
- At least a double speed CDROM drive.
- An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently only the CDROM version supports audio).
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
