Audience

The target audience is Functional and Technical Consultants and end users who have knowledge of Oracle 9i; SQL and Programs within PL/SQL.

Objective

Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:

  • Identify necessary setup steps for Oracle Workflow.
  • Identify issues involved in setting Global Workflow Preferences.
  • Identify the issues in setting up a directory service.
  • Identify uses of the Workflow Definition Loader program.
  • Identify features of the Workflow XML Loader program.
  • Identify features of the Ping utility.

    Unit 1: Administration

    • Identify necessary setup steps for Oracle Workflow.
    • Identify issues involved in setting Global Workflow Preferences.
    • Identify the issues in setting up a directory service.
    • Identify the tasks to be performed to configure Business Event System (BES).
    • Identify the optional setup steps for Oracle Workflow.
    • Identify features of Oracle Workflow Manager.
    • Identify features of work items.
    • Identify features of Oracle Workflow data purging.
    • Identify features of background engines.
    • Identify features of service components.
    • Identify features of an agent listener.
    • Identify features of notification mailers.
    • Identify features of the notification mailer configuration wizard.
    • Identify features of queue propagation schedules and agent activities.

    Unit 2: Utilities

    • Identify uses of the Workflow Definition Loader program.
    • Identify features of the Workflow XML Loader program.
    • Identify features of the Ping utility.
    • Sequence the steps in the Workflow Send Protocol process.

    Minimum Requirements

    The CDROM version of this course requires:

    • At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
    • Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
    • At least 8MB RAM.
    • At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
    • At least a double speed CDROM drive.
    • An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently only the CDROM version supports audio).
    The network version of this course requires:
    • At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
    • Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
    • At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
    • At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
