This course explains what hedge funds are, the different types of funds, who invests in them and why. The various hedge fund styles are briefly outlined with case studies and exercises to reinforce the principal concepts. This a great opportunity to get to grips with the key legal, tax, regulatory and accounting issues affecting hedge funds together with the elements essential to effective hedge fund administration. Other sessions cover risk management, fund performance analysis, manager selection, due diligence (quantitative, qualitative and operational), asset allocation, portfolio management, benchmarks and the marketing of hedge funds. An overriding theme of the course will be perceptions vs. reality.
