DATT Direct Attention Thinking Tools
Thinking Skills Decision Making Problem Solving
Dr. Edward de Bono's DATT gives you 10 simple strategies for sharpening your perception and focusing your thinking in a more comprehensive, effective, and efficient way. DATT will enable you to have a broad and inclusive viewpoint. The DATT tools create a framework for defining a situation. That framework will improve your ability to consider consequences before you take action.
The way we see the world our perception of it determines the decisions we make and what we do. Perception is probably the most important part of our thinking. Unfortunately, most mistakes in thinking are mistakes in perception.
Our modern lives both business and personal are very fast paced and full of action. We often confuse action with accomplishment and frequently jump to action without enough thought. We love to take action and see what happens if it is good, we keep going; if it is bad, we stop and clean up the mess we have created. This strategy is better than doing nothing at all however, it is inefficient, and the pain or mistake rate is extremely high.
You can quickly learn the DATT tools. One of the easiest way to use DATT is to think of it as "software for the brain." Once you have been trained and the software is loaded into your brain, you can simply close your eyes and click on one of the DATT "icons" to review the tools you ve learned and to use them in any situation.
The DATT course is designed to be taught to every employee. If anyone is wrestling with daily decisions, whether business or personal (e.g. , purchasing a car), DATT has tools that can help.
DATT-trained employees outperform others.
