It's ironic that some companies see Health Safety and Training as an expensive commodity that seems to have little or no effect.
It is proven that where companies have and enforce Health Safety and Training, report increased productivity leading to increased turn over, better staff motivation, less staff turnover and less sickness leave.
With litigation against companies being higher than ever, lack of training has become one of the top reasons cited for the root causation of injury. Lack of understanding or the 'I didn t know about it' scenario is no defence in law.
You may feel how far do we have to go, but the irony is, since 1st April 1975 all companies have to provide, under section 2 (2) of The Health and Safety at Work Etc Act 1974, suitable and sufficient Information, Instruction, Training and Supervision.
