Confined Space Entry Training
General Information about the Confined Space Entry training
Our courses are Australian accredited Training programs and offer qualifications and units of Competency that are in line with National Training Packages under the National Framework of Training (NFROT). Safety training course competencies are generally from Public Safety PUA 30601 course.
The Confined Space Training Program is extensive and flexible.
A full training course encompasses all modules, including:
Legislation
Hazards
Safe Work Procedures and Risk Assessment
Equipment
Atmospheric Hazards and Gas Detection Equipment
Breathing Apparatus
Life Support
Fire Fighting
Emergency Procedures and Rescue
Alternatively we can tailor a Confined Space Training program that is targeted to specific needs based your own risk assessments. Commonly, most customer opt for a three(3) day course.
A refresher course for persons previously trained can also be arranged.
Our course is designed for an outcome that will allow the participants to this course to be capable of putting in place safe work practices to ensure a safe place of work when working in confined spaces as it applies to your workplace. They will be capable of following emergency procedures in the event of a confined space incident.
This course is based on the Australian Standard AS 2865 Safe Working in Confined Spaces

The learning outcomes we aim for are:
Know the Confined Spaces Legislation & Australian Standard AS 2865
Be capable of assessing atmospheric, physical, psychological, chemical and toxic hazards in a confined spaces.
Be capable of implementing a confined space risk assessment
Know the responsibilities of:
The orginisation, management, employees and contractors.
Know general Confined Space equipment requirements
Know the requirements for record keeping
Know what is required for Confined Space Entry Permits and Risk assessments
All practical exercises must be completed competently within the time limits
Course program
Most popular are the reduced duration course (3 days) which does not include CPR and Fire Fighting(Extinguishers) as these modules are normally covered by 2nd party courses already attended or readily available. Applications can be made for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) by providing copies of current CPR and Fire Extinguisher courses to receive a full Confined Space Entry certificate.

Knowledge based objectives will be assessed with group oral quizzes and multiple choice quizzes at the end of each module.
Skills based objectives will be assessed by having each participant carry out the skillto a set competency level. This competency levels will be based on the factors below:
1. Time to carry out the skill
2. How well carried out
3. Was the individual stressed when doing the skill

Course Timing
The Confined Space Entry course is normally conducted over full work days for duration of selected program, 8.30am 4pm with lunch 12n-12.45pm. It is possible to conduct the course over weekends, one or two days per weekend as per your requirements. Suitable dates to be negotiated.
We normally conduct a 3 day CSE course but as an alternative, a 2 day course can be arranged. This two day course is ideal for persons trained in Confined Space Entry not at present working in Confined Spaces and requiring a refresher or where the local Risk Assessment identified the confined spaces as low risk. Refresher courses for personnel having been trained within the past two years is normally only a one day course.
Special requirements you may have to be added to the course can easily be incorporated.
