Course description

The power of a GIS lies in its ability to analyze spatial relationships. Such analysis can significantly enlighten the decisionmaking process. This course covers the most prominent forms of spatial analysis in both the Vector and Raster data models. Students engage in extensive computer exercises to explore tools and techniques for analyzing spatial data. Special emphasis is placed on the appropriate use of different analytical techniques and data quality and error considerations when performing analysis in a GIS.
