The 5 week South African Close Protection Officer course is aimed at anyone who is wishing to work in the Close Protection industry. The aim of this intensive ASLET Approved and SIA compliant Close Protection Course is to provide an informative, no nonsense, hands-on course for serious participants in the close protection industry.
Most Service leavers qualify for up to seven weeks resettlement time for personal and career development during their last two years in the Forces. This may be used for HE or FE course(s), specialist training, or an attachment with a potential employer while still drawing a Service salary.
- IRTC Individual Resettlement Training Cost: Service leavers have access to up to 4,106 for training, accommodation and subsistence.
- ELCs of up to 6,000 and SLCs of 175 a year may be used for resettlement (see above).
The training modules have been compiled from field experience and are designed to qualify the student in solo and small team operations.
Pre Selection Requirements. In order to qualify for acceptance on this training program, the following criteria needs to be met:
# Hold a Grade 12 or equivalent School Leavers Certificate
# Have a Criminal Clearance Certificate from your local Law Enforcement Agency
# Have a Medical Clearance Certificate from your Doctor allowing you to participate in physically demanding activities
# Have a valid Identity Document or Passport
# Hold a valid Drivers License for a Light Motor Vehicle
# Be between the ages of 21 and 45
Comply with the following physical tests:
# Swim 50 meters without assistance
# 30 x push-ups
# 80 x sit-ups
# 6 x pull-ups
# Run 2.4 km in less than 16 minutes
