Exchange 2000 Server: System Administration

Training Provided by The Career Center Students will learn how to install, configure, and manage a Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server environment. They will create and manage storage groups and stores, recipient objects, and public folders. They will also configure SMTP, message routing, Internet protocols, and instant messaging. In addition, students will use Outlook Web Access to send email messages.

Upon successful completion of this course including both classroom and lab time, students will be able to:

  • Install and troubleshoot Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
  • Use administrative tools to configure and manage Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
  • Create and manage storage groups and stores.
  • Create and manage recipient objects.
  • Create and manage public folders.
  • Review SMTP concepts and configure SMTP Domain names and SMTP virtual servers.
  • Create routing groups and configure message routing.
  • Explore message flow architecture and the link state table and algorithm.
  • Integrate IIS with Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server and configure email protocols.
  • Integrate Outlook Web access with Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
  • Install and configure instant messaging.
  • Use Performance Microsoft Management Console to monitor Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server performance.
