CIW Foundations is a three-course series that teaches the essential hands-on skills and knowledge that Internet professionals are expected to understand; Internet Business Foundations Site Development Foundations Network Technology Foundations. The revised objectives reflect advancements in technologies and tools such as peer-to-peer networks instant messaging and blogging and current workplace skills requirements. The CIW Foundations courses prepare students to take the CIW Foundations certification exam.

Audience
The CIW Associate certification is ideal for all professionals who use the Internet. This prerequisite certification is also required for all levels of specialization in the CIW program. CIW Associates have mastered the common core of Internet knowledge and apply these foundational skills to further specialization.
