This course applies to all individuals in an organization.
Objective
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Define the many facets of diversity and explore how they can benefit individuals and organizations.
- Using the iceberg model as a metaphor for understanding surface and hidden aspects of culture work towards understanding your own culture and variances in other cultures.
- Facilitate communication on a deeper level by communicating across cultures and promoting inclusion.
- Define diversity and its different facets.
- Interpret words associated with diversity.
- Describe how diversity benefits the organization.
- Explain how diversity benefits you.
- Describe the iceberg model.
- Explore one?s own perspectives and pre-judgments.
- Consider the impact of your pre-judgments
- Communicate to discover hidden value and build rapport.
- Discover the rewards of inclusion.
- Practice D.I.V.E.R.S.E. actions.
