Delegation - The Delegation Process
Audience
This series is designed for Managers who want to improve their delegation skills and in turn increase their own visibility as well as the teama s visibility within the company.
Objective
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:
- identify guidelines for prioritizing and grouping tasks
- identify key issues to consider when appointing a delegate
- identify guidelines for preparing a brief
- identify guidelines for monitoring delegates
- identify how to monitor task areas that carry risk

Unit 1:Analyzing and Appointing
- Identify how you should use a task log.
- Identify the categories that you can divide tasks into.
- Identify guidelines for prioritizing and grouping tasks.
- Identify key issues to consider when appointing a delegate.
- Identify three key aims to consider when choosing delegates.
- Simulation Overview
- Identify guidelines for preparing a brief.
- Identify different parts of a brief.
- Identify steps for securing agreement for your task brief.
- Identify guidelines for handling reservations that delegates may have.
- Simulation Overview
- Identify guidelines for monitoring delegates.
- Identify guidelines to monitor task areas that carry risk.
- Sequence the steps for assisting delegates with problems.
- Identify the dangers of reverse delegation.

- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
- At least a double speed CDROM drive.
- An MPC compliant sound card with attached speakers or headphones is recommended (Currently only the CDROM version supports audio).
- At least a 486DX 33Mhz CPU.
- Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and a Microsoft compatible mouse.
- At least 8MB RAM and 22MB available hard disk space or file server space.
- At least VGA graphics capability with a minimum 512K video RAM (1MB video RAM recommended).
