Training Provided by Icon Consultancy & Education Ltd The NCPLH qualification is the mandatory qualification required for the grant of a Personal Licence under the Licensing Act 2003 The course covers the administration of liquor licensing and the legislation introduced by the 2003 Act During the Transition period between now and the end of September all our delegates will also receive additional support on the existing licensing law. A number of Magistrates benches have expressed concern about the lack of knowledge of current law shown by applicants who have presented themselves with the new qualification. As a consequence all our delegates will be appraised of the current law and will receive a Diploma which confirms that they have received additional training to that required by the NCPLH qualification. There is now a legal requirement for anyone who sells alcohol, or authorises others to sell alcohol, to be a Personal Licence Holder. In order to apply for a Personal Licence, candidates must first obtain the NCPLH qualification. This pack has been designed to allow you to complete your self-study, prior to joining the examination. This will enable you to better prepare for the National Certificate for Personal Licence Holder s Examination.

The examination for the NCPLH consists of 40 multiple-choice questions and you must answer 28 questions correctly to pass.

It should also be noted that the syllabus for the NCPLH does NOT cover all the legislation which is required for the legal operation of a Licensed Premise.
