The mandatory qualification for Door Supervisor registration
This is a four day course which covers the roles and responsibilities of the Door Supervisor and the related legal aspect of the job role. Secondly, the course covers Conflict Management. Prevention of conflict must be the primary aim of every Door Supervisor but the Managment of Conflict, when it occurs, is critical.
Candidates will be required to take two examinations over the four day period and must pass both in order to receive the National Certificate for Door Supervisors. Holding this qualification will then allow the delegate to apply for accreditation from the Security Industry Authority

Training Program Details
The image of the bouncer as a thug , whose only qualification is that he can look after him or herself, is outdated and unacceptable. Both men and women are now working as door supervisors in the leisure industry, and today s professionals concentrate on making sure that customers have an enjoyable experience in a safe environment. Whilst there is rarely a prescribed mix of male to female door supervisors, consideration must be given to the fact that the customer split is usually 50:50 and this should be reflected in the ratio of male/female door supervisors.
The NCDS provides door supervisors with the knowledge and skills required to do the job professionally as well as the necessary qualification to apply for the Security Industry Authority Door Supervisors Licence.
No Door Supervisor can work unless they hold the SIA Licence.
This requires that door supervisors complete both Stage 1 and Stage 2 training BEFORE they can operate as a door supervisor.
NCDS Stage One - Role and responsibilities of the door supervisor.
This is a knowledge-based qualification, which encompasses licensing law, entertainment law, health and safety regulations, arrest procedures, drugs, violence and a variety of other topics.
Assessment is by a short 30 question multiple choice examination
NCDS Stage Two Conflict Management.
Stage two of the door supervisor s course requires candidates to study conflict management. There is far less theoretical input in this part of the course and it involves working in, observing and commenting on, typical scenarios in which door supervisors might commonly find themselves. This is an awareness based training course and covers all aspects of Conflict Management including both the prevention and management of conflict.
Assessment is by multiple choice responses to video scenarios
It should be noted at this point that their will be NO physical contact between course members at any point in the course. In the event that a delegate should overreact, they may, at the discretion of the tutor, be expelled from the course.
