Module 1: Preparing to Deploy Office XP

  • Overview of the Deployment Process

  • Examining Office XP Deployment Methods

  • Examining Office XP Deployment Considerations

  • Creating an Administrative Installation Point

  • Elevating Privileges for Office XP Installations

  • Installing Office XP from an Administrative Installation Point

    At the end of this module you will be able to create an administrative installation point and install Office XP from anadministrative installation point.

    Module 2: Customizing an Office XP Installation

    The following topics are covered in this module:

  • Overview of Customization

  • Modifying an Office XP Installation Using a Transform File

  • Customizing the Office XP Setup Process

  • Using the Office Profile Wizard

  • Customizing the User Environment Using System Policies

    At the end of this module you will be able to customize an Office XP installation by using the Custom Installation Wizard theOffice Profile Wizard and system policies.

    Student Pre-Requisites

    Before attending this course students must have:

  • Expertise with Microsoft Windows desktop administration (Windows 98 Windows NT and/or Windows 2000) to locate create and manipulatefolders and files and configure desktop environments.

  • Completed Course 2151 Microsoft Windows 2000 Network and Operating System or equivalent knowledge.

  • Experience supporting networks or end-users.

    Program Goals

    At the end of the course students will be able to:

  • Select a method for deploying Office XP.

  • Upgrade a computer running Office 97 to Office XP.

  • Maintain and repair Office XP installations.

  • Explain how to deploy Office XP in a multilingual environment.
