Training Program Details
5 DAY COURSE CONTENT.
Before starting any of your own work you will be given demonstrations on the use of tools, preparation of walls and mixing of plaster so that you know exactly what to do. Each individual will have there own bay to work in. During the course all questions will be answered and there are straight forward plastering notes for you to take away with you. A back up service via the telephone or email is available after the course if you need advice on any jobs which you are planning to do.
MONDAY MORNING: Following the demonstrations you will be cutting and fixing plasterboard to your bay ceiling and walls.
MONDAY AFTERNOON: Scratch coat your block work wall and piers using a sand & cement backing plaster. Time permitting you will cut plasterboard angle beads and fix around your window opening.
TUESDAY MORNING: Cut and fix angle beads onto the your piers using a bonding coat. You will then float over your scratch coat on the main wall.
TUESDAY AFTERNOON: Floating your piers up to the angle beads.
WEDNESDAY MORNING: Using a multi-finish plaster you will set over the floating coat on the main wall and the front of your piers to a smooth finish ready for decorating.
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON: Tape up your main plasterboard wall and then set using a multi-finish plaster to a smooth finish ready for decorating.
THURSDAY MORNING: Tape up your plasterboard window wall and then set using a multi-finish plaster to a smooth finish ready for decorating.
THURSDAY AFTERNOON: Tape up your ceiling and then set using a multi-finish plaster to a smooth finish ready for decorating.
FRIDAY MORNING: Set the inside of your piers and around your window opening using a multi-finish plaster to a smooth finish ready for decorating.
FRIDAY AFTERNOON: Uni-bond a wall and then set over the existing plaster using a multi-finish plaster to a smooth finish ready for decorating.
Please note: On all of our plastering courses you will get the full amount of days training specified and we do not ask you to take your work down at the end of your course. As you can see each day is full of practical, hands on plastering training with no class room theory necessary.
