If you've been to a trade show, company meeting or product launch event recently, chances are that you've watched a PowerPoint presentation. PowerPoint is used in a variety of settings to present "slide shows" with text, pictures, animation and sound.
This introductory class teaches essential skills to design PowerPoint presentations, including working with text, pictures, artistic word blocks known as "WordArt" and other basic drawing objects. Helpful tools such as spell checking are covered, in addition to the different "views" used in building a presentation. Delivering the presentation on screen or on paper is covered, including a discussion of PowerPoint's various print settings and options. The class objectives include:
- Understand fundamental concepts: what is PowerPoint?, what are slides and objects?, insert, resize and move objects.
- Review the environment: the interface, spelling tools, working with files, getting help.
- Learn more about objects: formatting and working with text, text boxes and graphics.
- Discuss PowerPoint's views and how to use them.
- Work with the slide and presentation tools: cut/copy and paste, create headers and footers and apply slide transitions.
- Print and present: deliver your presentation on-screen and/or on paper.
