The Installing and Configuring a PC WBT is the second course in the A+ 2003 Certification curriculum and caters to the A+ Core Service Technician Examination 2003. This course is meant for computer hardware technicians and service engineers who want to acquire knowledge of installing, configuring, and networking a PC. This course discusses the process of assembling and configuring various PC components, such as motherboard, disk drives, and memory, and also describes the procedure of installing and tuning Windows operating systems on a PC. It also provides users with an overview of different types of networks and discusses various topologies, cables, protocols, and utilities used for implementing a network. Additionally, this course enables users to acquire knowledge on configuring a PC to share resources with a network, using the TCP/IP protocol. After completing this course, the student will be able to:
install a motherboard

run the CMOS setup program to configure the system
prepare the hard disk of a newly assembled computer for installing an operating system
