The primary reason a written message is misinterpreted is because we tend to write like writers, and not like readers. As a result, your readers may procrastinate reading your document because the formatting or word choice didn t instantly motivate them to action - in other words, they didn t see how taking action would benefit them directly.
Who should attend?
Adults who need to efficiently and effectively communicate their ideas and information at work, school and home.
What will be learned?
In this 4, 6 or 8-hour seminar you will learn how to:
* Write organized & readable memos, letters & reports
* Write e-mails that immediately grab the reader s attention
* Develop correspondence that motivates a reader to action
* Create effective writing plans for all types of projects
* Research key information quickly and accurately
* Recognize and avoid common grammar and punctuation errors
* Communicate their message efficiently and effectively
How is this seminar different?
A strong linear thinker will find it difficult to comprehend a document written in a global format and global style - just as a strong global thinker would find a detailed and sequential document tedious. Consequently, if your writing doesn't cater to your readers' particular learning and thinking strengths, your true message may be hidden from view, despite how it clear it may seem to you. Therefore, you will learn how to grab the attention of your reader, and deliver content that motivates your reader to take action.
IMPORTANT: We recommend you bring your current writing assignments (or topics) to this seminar. Our instructor will show you how to apply our strategies directly to the type of writing you must complete on a daily basis.
