Aim:
The objectives of the course are to: Gain an understanding of health and safety legislation and how to adopt good practice, for people working in any industry sector.
Target Audience:
This programme is designed for people who wish to gain an understanding of principles and practice of safety compliance. No prior knowledge is required.

The course is divided up into sixteen modules, as follows:
Module 1: Introduction to Safety Compliance
Module 2: Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
Module 3: Management of Health & Safety at Work Regs
Module 4: Risk Assessment
Module 5: Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992
Module 6: Health and Safety Regulations 1992
Module 7: Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations
Module 8: Personal Protective Equipment Regulations
Module 9: Workplace (Health Safety and Welfare) Regulations
Module 10: Fire Safety
Module 11: First Aid. An introduction
Module 12: Accident Reporting
Module 13: Health & Safety Training
Module 14: Lifting Operations and Lifting Regulations
Module 15: Electricity at Work
Module 16: Hazardous Substances
Format:
The course is designed for study by distance learning at work or at home. Students receive course manual, assignments and studyguide plus tutor support by mail and email. You can start at any time and plan your studies over a period of up to one year from the time of registration. Each element is followed by a written assignment, which is submitted and marked by your tutor. There is no external examination required.
