How to buy computers and what to look for
How to look after your computer and carry out basic operations
How to use Windows commands
How to produce documents in MS Word
How to use email to communicate with other people
How to use the internet, search for information and download from the NET
How to use chat rooms safely
Target Audience:
This programme is designed for people who wish to gain an understanding of principles and practice of Computers. No prior knowledge is required.

Content:
The course is divided up into five modules, as follows:
Module 1: What are computers and what do they do?
Module 2: Buying a computer
Module 3: Looking after your computer
Module 4: Using email
Module 5: The Internet
Format:
The course is designed for study by distance learning at work or at home. Students receive course manual, assignments and studyguide plus tutor support by mail and email. You can start at any time and plan your studies over a period of up to one year from the time of registration. Each element is followed by a written assignment, which is submitted and marked by your tutor. There is no external examination required.
