Influencing with Style
Remember those parent-teacher conferences, when your kindergarten or preschool teacher would discuss your progress with your parents? One thing on their list was that big word, socialization. What it really meant was, Do you get along with others? Do you play well with them? Getting along with others was considered a good thing, because there are few things in this world that you can accomplish all by yourself. Today we have a much better understanding of what makes people so different and the key to working and playing well with others is being able to recognize and adapt to those differences. Our Influencing With Style workshop helps participants do just that: They identify their own Social Style and learn how to identify the styles of others. They leave the workshop with a powerful tool for helping them adapt in situations where relationships are key to success. At work or at play. Or with neighbors. Even with their own families! Using the Social Style Profile, participants assess themselves and others in terms of four social styles: driver, analytical, expressive, and amiable. Then they learn how to flex their style to help them adapt to others with different social styles from their own. They discuss when and why it is desirable to flex. They leave the workshop ready to earn that gold star that eluded them in preschool because they now know how to play well with others.
