Managing Relationships at Work
Everybody knows that people are different. Some people see the big picture; others want to analyze the details. Some people thrive on setting and achieving goals, while others focus on maintaining harmony among the members of the group. Some like to lead; others prefer to follow. In short, different things motivate different people. And that s fine until people have to work together. Then the differences often become obstacles to achieving a business result. They create frustration, resistance, and dissension. They slow down the project, stall the team. Everybody seems to be dancing to a different tune. Or doing a different dance to the same tune. Managing Relationships at Work comes to the rescue: This workshop helps participants make those differences among people work for them instead of against them. It prepares them to approach all their key relationships on the job with more understanding and flexibility. The result: They will get more out of themselves and others and they ll enjoy it more. Participants identify their own Social Style by completing a self-assessment based on the Social Style Model . Then they learn how to identify the styles of others and, finally, how to flex their own style in different situations with different people to accomplish their business result. Now the participants are ready for the dance: Sometimes they ll lead, and sometimes they ll follow. Sometimes they will dance alone, at other times with a partner or in a line with many others. By learning how to recognize and then adapt to different Social Styles , participants will return to the workplace with a new energy and confidence. Not only ready for the dance, but eager for it.
