Assistant Editing Essentials for Final Cut Pro

This two-day course offers both lecture and hands-on time to explore the topics covered. This course covers real world tasks that are required to be a successful assistant editor working with Final Cut Pro for television and feature lms, and discussions about how to approach various editing work ows. It is intended for newcomers to the eld, as well as experienced assistant editors working in Avid environments who are new to Final Cut Pro. Everything from the latest digital work ows, prep, input, syncing, organization, managing settings, media management and various output options are covered.

Working with File-based media including RED, Canon DSLR, P2 and XDCAM EX
Working with a AJA Kona I/ O card for input and output at different resolutions; up and down converting

Customizing, saving and managing user settings
Media Management- consolidating and deleting media

Recompressing/ transcoding media and sequences
