Get That Job!

Careers and Job Hunting

Training Provided by Take Charge Sdn Bhd This one-day workshop approaches the subject matter of job application and interview skills from a fresh and uncommon point of view. Among the eye-opening but effective techniques presented in this workshop are: 1. Your resume WILL be read by the potential employer. 2. Don t send a passport-sized photograph with your resume; send a 4R one. 3. Match your application letter with the recruitment advertisement word for word. This is called Answering The Advertisement. 4. Match your resume to the requirements of the job. 5. Don t send your resume to the HR Department unless you are applying for an HR job! 6. Find out about the following even BEFORE you enter the interview room: how big the interview room is, how many interviewers, who are the interviewers, what are they like (behaviour), and what questions will they ask. 7. Build rapport so good that the interviewers cannot but accept you as a very friendly and positive person. The workshop begins by preparing the participants to identify, for certain and in detail, what kind of work they want to do. By having the end in mind, they will be able to identify what to do and how to do it; what kind of work to apply for and how to apply for it. They will able to strategize how to present their resume to match and address their potential employer s requirements. In addition, the specific research the participants would have made on the job and the company would make their resume be an interesting reading indeed. In applying for a job, the program focusses on the contents, not format, of the application letter and resume, and to make it very relevant to the job requirements of the employer as listed in their job advertisements. The second half of the workshop deals with the techniques and strategies when attending interviews. The participants will be taught a communication skill and how to effectively use that skill to get whatever relevant information BEFORE he/she enters the interview room, and during the interview itself. Dressing and grooming tips will also be one of the many tips shared in the session. The techniques are presented with the only intention to create an alternative for the participants to compete in today s tight job market. With so many people using the same or very similar job application strategies, an effective shift in strategy is called for to increase one s opportunities to get a job. Program Objectives: Build a new mindset when you apply for jobs. Develop strategies to ensure your goals are achieved through proper planning and research. Increase your understanding on what goes on in the recruitment process of an organization and take advantage of it. Apply proven techniques to build rapport with your potential employer. Leverage against the competition when applying for jobs. Discover your potential to take charge of your future. Polish your image to increase professionalism in your career and personality. Enjoy the results of knowing your outcome and getting the career you want.
