To become an "Active Listener" you need to develop specific listening goals and specific strategies to achieve those goals. But you also need to understand the goals and communication preferences (and idiosyncrasies) of the people you listen to.
You will learn how to:
* Recognize & adapt to the speaker's body language to ensure a productive conversation
* Use your own body language to make others more receptive to your message
* Quickly identify the true intentions of the people you are communicating with
* Take efficient and effective notes during classes, meetings, and conversations
* Stay alert and focused to actively listen for key information during classes & meetings
* Listen and respond effectively during confrontations with difficult and angry people
It is virtually impossible to remain completely attentive during every conversation, meeting, or training session; none of us can maintain 100 percent focus, 100 percent of the time. Therefore, we will show you how to recognize key phrases and non-verbal communication that will signal when to respond and how to elicit the desired reaction from the speaker. After all, listening is only half the battle.
