Course Description
You have probably used a computer to gather, process, and share information. For example, you may have searched for product information on the Internet, totalled expenses using a spreadsheet application, or typed and printed a memo using a word processing application. You may now need to store a large amount of information in an organized manner so that you can quickly and easily sort the information in various ways, and locate specific pieces of information efficiently. In this case, you'll use FileMaker Pro to create and use databases to store and organize information so that it is available for efficient retrieval.
Course Objective: You will use FileMaker Pro to create and use databases to store and organize information.
Performance-Based Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
access data in an existing database.
locate records and groups of records that meet specific criteria.
create a new database that includes multiple records and multiple layouts.
create database layouts by positioning and formatting fields.
add graphic and text elements to layouts.
create several layouts that can be output to display data for various needs.
create a columnar report layout that includes sub-summary data for specified groups of records.

ACT! 2005: Level 1is a hands-on instruction book that will introduce you to the basics of ACT! 2005.
Performance-Based Objectives
Open an existing database and become familiar with the ACT! 2005 environment.
Enter contacts into a database by creating and editing a database.
Locate contact records by using the Lookup feature and the Contact List window.
Organize and manage contact records by creating groups.
Schedule and manage activities by using the Activities tab.
Schedule and manage activities by using the calendar windows and the Task List window.
Create, edit, and format a document by using the ACT! word processor.

What's in GoldMine 5.0: Basic:
The ILT Series Goldmine 5: Basic is designed for individuals who want learn how to manage personal information and information about business contacts. Students will learn basic skills such as how to create a contact database and edit a new contact record. The manual is designed for quick scanning in the classroom and filled with interactive exercises that help ensure student success.
Objectives
Search for specific contacts and filter contacts based on criteria.
Tag contacts; create, activate, and release groups; create new organizations and sections; link contacts to an organization; link a new contact to an organization; and delete an organization.
Create, change, and close sales opportunities; and assign quotas and analyze sales.
