1-Day Jump Start to Business Workshop

Entrepreneurship

1-Day Jump Start to Business Workshop Enterprise Education for Students Aged 12-14

This one-day workshop gives younger teenagers an exciting opportunity to explore the idea of business ownership. Students will enjoy hands-on activities that raise awareness of social responsibility in business and stimulate creative thinking. They will be inspired to identify a money-making opportunity and explore their own skills, talents and interests that could be used to start a business that meets the needs of potential customers in the local community. Most importantly, this challenging workshop encourages young people to be enterprising problem solvers who believe their good ideas and entrepreneurial attitudes can bring positive change to the world around them.

Every student will:
Discuss the importance of social responsibility in business
Begin to recognise their own skills and talents that could be used in business
Improve skills in creativity and enterprising thinking
Practice working in teams to solve business challenges
Develop basic marketing ideas to sell a product they create
Be inspired to consider entrepreneurship as a possible career choice

Alignment: In addition to teaching Enterprise Capability, this 1-day programme contributes to achievement of all nine elements of Work Related Learning, as well as Key Skills and Wider Key Skills, and supports the aims of Every Child Matters.
