10 weeks two Group classes for individuals where English is a second language.
Tues and Thurs nights from 5-9pm starting July 3 and 5. Classes are 5-10 people.
Students learn:
How to pronounce English vowels and consonants
Word pairing, word stress, intonation
Warming up the voice so not to strain.
Articulation exercises to help the articulators of the mouth move in the correct direction to pronounce a word.
Students come away with an enhanced knowledge of how to correct common pronunciation problems in English on their own.
Students increase their confidence in communication.
Students are taught to feel their articulation (what is happening inside the mouth) in order to hear the sound (auditory discrimination)they are producing and compare it to the desired pronunciation, (visual discrimination) IPA (international phonetic alphabet) is taught for those who are visual learners. This process is encouraged if one wants to improve their articulation and pronunciation more quickly than some English language programs. Students can choose to sign up for a group class with people from their accent background, or work one on one with me to work on enhancing their speech. Group classes are four hours once a week for 10 weeks , One on one is 1 hour per week for 10 weeks. Light homework is given to maintain practise in between classes.
