This security management course has been designed specifically for junior managers in security companies. It will focus on the specific management challenges found in the security industry and successful candidates will be awarded the Institute of Leadership and Management Introductory Certificate in First Line Management. This qualification is a general management qualification and can therefore prove management knowledge in any environment. Following the course candidates will be able to: Plan the work of teams; Improve retention of staff to reduce recruitment costs; Communicate effectively with team members; Manage team performance; Make effective decisions; Solve problems; Provide excellent customer service; and Manage change. The course can be completed as a classroom based course requiring an initial 4 day classroom phase, followed by 2 weeks distance learning and ending with 1 day classroom workshop. It can also be completed as a distance learning package which requires 1/2 day workshops at the beginning and end of the course with supported distance learning in between. The classroom based course is better suited to learners who wish to gain their qualification in the shortest possible time and prefer to learn in groups. The distance learning package allows the flexibility for candidates to book onto the course at any time, learn at their own pace and in their own time, while still enjoying the support they need. Please be aware that the focus of this course is security management and it would probably not be suitable for general managers in other industry sectors.
