Interfaces are crucial to the success of your design in essence, they link your audience to your material. Good web interface design is intuitive, easy to navigate, user-friendly, and built on past user experience (on-line and off). Bad interfaces turn away visitors like the plague.
On a VCR, you know the red circle means "record" and the green triangle means "play", right? The internet has similar conventions, some well-established, some still experimental.
In Interface Design, you'll learn the thought processes and theories behind these man-and-machine interfaces, and, more importantly, how to apply the many graphic design tools at your disposal to gently guide visitors around your own site.
