Special Mystery Method Bootcamp

So here s my experience of the Vegas Special Bootcamp that I attended last weekend taught by Mystery
After a brief period of mulling it over I decided to go for the Gold package which was 3750. Pretty expensive so I was worried about whether I would get my money s worth but I figured if I m going to do this and fly across the country I might as well go all the way.
Thursday - 2 00pm
When I arrived at the Atrium hotel it was pretty apparent there was a Mystery Method conference if you knew what you were looking for Garish rock star clothes funky platform shoes and the random cowboy hat dotted the lobby. Subtle but obvious peacocking As I waited for the elevator up to my room I saw that I was waiting next to Lovedrop who I recognized from the DVD set. I introduced myself and had a brief conversation with him. Very cool guy. Funny and definitely down to earth. It gave me a feeling that this was going to be a good weekend.
Friday - Noon
When the conference began the next morning I realized pretty quickly that I d made a good decision Mystery was amazing. All I can say is that I can see why the guy is so good. He s probably one of the most charismatic people I ve ever encountered. I learned a lot about charisma in general beyond it s pickup applications just by watching this guy work the room. He even said it himself. We were a 100 Set and all the same principles applied as a 4 set. I ve read the e-book watched the DVDs and studied this stuff for a bit now but hearing and seeing it from the source put a lot of things in perspective. He covered the material in way more depth than anywhere else and gave a lot of examples and experiences from his own life that made it really personal.
That was probably the best part of the seminar that it was so personal. Mystery spent a lot of time taking questions from the audience and even the breaks were just Q A sessions by the pool. These sometimes ended up lasting a lot longer than the 10 minutes they were supposed to which was sometimes annoying but everyone got their questions answered to be sure.
Friday - 3 00pm
We did a number of hands on exercises including one to help calibrate our opening body language and another to develop personal DHV stories. These were both invaluable to me because I was making some not so obvious mistakes that the instructors were able to fix pretty quickly I m opening a lot more consistently by having made the few small changes they pointed out.
Friday - 10 00pm
And I got to put those changes into action in the field at night. The nighttime portion was really where it all came together for me After spending 8 hours hearing and talking about pickup I was pretty psyched to use everything I d learned.
My first night I was assigned to Lovedrop s group at Studio 54. It was demo night where the instructors do sets and all I can say is that I was totally blown away Within minutes Lovedrop and Savoy had girls on their laps and had the targets friends eating out of their hands. It was really something to see I opened a three set with the help of Sheriff that went really well. I was able to isolate the target while Sheriff ran distraction game on the obstacles. I realized quickly I was moving into some sort of friendly nice guy place which was because as Sheriff later pointed out I had done NO kino. Major sticking point of mine. Need to work on it. I watched the instructors some more and opened a few more sets myself and ended up with two numbers. Overall it was a pretty good night.
Saturday - 12 00pm
The next day in seminar we spent a lot of time discussing the previous night s experiences. It was like an NFL post-game breakdown and it was interesting hearing the successes and sticking points of all the other guys. What was cool is that the instructors always had great solutions for them. They had heard and seen everyone s problems 1000 times before. Most appear to be universal for newbies. Some guys were pretty emotional during this part because they had practically never approached a girl before or had any success and all of a sudden they have three phone numbers and/or girls on their laps making out with them... I realized this was as much about male empowerment and taking control of an important part of life as it was about just getting laid. Pretty cool.
We also talked a lot about kino and Mystery gave us some routines and tactics to break the touching barrier and comfortably start kinoing girls. It really put a lot of pieces together for me. The routines were all really casual but very well thought out in terms of escalating and gauging the target s comfort level. We also watched some videos of him doing live pickups which were awesome.
Saturday 10 00pm
The second night out I was on a mission to work on my kino and Matador was my instructor. I told him that I wanted to work on it and we immediately started opening sets. I watched him kino the crap out of 3 different sets and basically twirl them around like puppets and completely control the frame with his patented kino stack . It was really impressive. On my first set I followed the formula and to my surprise it worked despite how awkward I felt Next thing I knew I was getting pushed into more sets kinoing more and it actually started to feel more comfortable. I got blown out once but Matador was winging me and stepped in re-opened it and took complete control of the group. It was badass.
Sunday - 12 00
After discussing the previous night s successes and failures we got to watch a bunch of videos from Mystery s personal collection. One was of him sarging a fairly hostile group four young girls and winning them over in a matter of a few minutes He ended up bouncing them for dinner later and totally controlled the frame. Seeing him in action it becomes pretty obvious how non-reactive he is to negative reactions. They give him shit he casually gives it back and moves forward in an interesting and positive way and eventually they follow him. It really is as they say a shit test. Once you pass the test they suddenly willing to follow him where he was going and let him into the group.
Sunday - 3 00
The highlight of the last day was when Neil Strauss came to speak. He talked about the importance of pushing yourself outside the comfort zone and how that was the path all great PUAs followed to get good. I had a taste of that the night before when I kept forcing myself to kino despite the awkwardness and ended up getting positive reactions. If I had never forced myself to do it I never would have learned to make it work and my game would have been stuck. It s a truism for any endeavor really. You have to push yourself beyond your previous acheivements In this Game that means staying in set and trying to control the frame when it s not going well enduring social pressure going for kino going for make-outs trying new material and not making excuses.
Overall this experience ended up exceeding my expectations. I was able to internalize a lot of concepts that I previously only understood intellectually and make them my own... I met some really cool people instructors and students alike and had an awesome time. So much material was covered that I feel like I ll have months of epiphanies ahead and I hope to put it all to good use
