Course description
As the world gets more complex and the rate of change accelerates, organizations must perform at higher and higher levels as do the people they employ. Coaching, a one-on–one relationship based process, takes practice to master. Research shows that coaching, when done well, has the promise to improve the performance of people one-by-one. This workshop is about moving coaching to the forefront of leadership responsibilities. Attend if you want to develop your coaching skills as way to help others optimize their levels of performance and deliver results that make a difference.
Who should attend Business leaders who: recognize coaching can be instrumental in creating a path for personal change, development and performance; and want to develop coaching skills effective in helping others achieve their goals and improve productivity
What you will achieve
- Working knowledge of the 6 step coaching process
- The ability to apply a coaching skill set and series of techniques critical to helping others optimize their performance
- Awareness of your current coaching skills and creation of an action plan for your personal development as a coach
- Familiarity with techniques to overcome challenges you may encounter while coaching including how to establish and maintain a coaching friendly culture
What you will learn
- Coaching put into Perspective - What Coaching is and is not? How it differs from other forms of development? How much of a difference can coaching make?
- Self-Assessment - Do you have the right stuff? Complete a self-assessment that will shed light on your current coaching skills, those you excel at and those that will benefit from further development
- Learn and Practice the Coaching Process - Using the 6 step coaching process, practice key coaching skills and techniques through a series of role plays
- Difficult Situations - anticipate and prepare for difficult situations that you may encounter
