Course Overview
This is the second course in a five-part series on Novell NetWare 5 Advanced Administration. This series provides the knowledge and skills necessary to design, configure, and administer a complex NetWare 5 network. This course will cover queue-based network printing, network file systems, and network and server optimization.
Learn">Learn To:
- Set up network printing by defining Novell Directory Services (NDS) printing objects.
- Bring up a print server.
- Connect a printer to a network.
- Design and set up both Novell's traditional filing system and a volume using Novell Storage Services (NSS).
- Modify parameters to optimize network performance.
Content Emphasis
Skills-Based
Audience
Network administrators or other networking professionals that provide service and support for the NetWare 5 environment. This course is intended for experienced networking professionals. Students should have completed the NetWare 5 Administration series (82301-05) prior to taking this course and the first part of this series (course 82311). Participants should also have a basic understanding of personal computers, operating systems, and network technology, as well as experience with DOS and a working knowledge of Windows 95 or Windows NT. This course series is an approved study guide that will help certification candidates prepare for exam 50-640 and is equivalent to Novell class 570.
