Course Overview

This course is the third in a three-part series on Integrating NetWare and Windows NT. This course covers user access in an integrated network, managing the Novell Client for Windows NT, and managing users with Z.E.N. Works.

Learn To:

  • Configure user access to the Windows NT domains and user groups.
  • Manage a Windows NT user account.

This course is for CNE candidates who need to integrate Windows NT workstations, Windows NT servers, and Windows NT domains with a NetWare Network. This course series is an approved study guide based on Novell course 555 that will help certification candidates prepare for exam 050-644. Participants should have taken the first two parts of this series (courses 82505 and 82506) prior to taking this course.

Unit 1: User Access in an Integrated Network

  • Install NDS for NT tools from a CD.
  • Access a Windows NT tool by using NetWare Administrator.
  • Configure user access to a Windows NT domain by using the NDS for NT domain object.
  • Configure user access to a Windows NT domain by using the NDS user object.
  • Configure user membership to a Windows NT user group by using the NDS user object.
  • Create a Windows NT user account that has access to a Windows NT domain by using User Manager for Domains.
  • Delete a Windows NT user account by using User Manager for Domains.
  • Synchronize the Windows NT and NDS passwords of a user by using NetWare Administrator.
  • Synchronize the Windows NT and NDS passwords of multiple users by using NetWare Administrator.
  • Synchronize the Windows NT and NDS passwords of users created with a common template by using NetWare Administrator.
  • Create a Windows NT user group by using NetWare Administrator.
  • Make a Windows NT directory sharable by using Windows NT Explorer.
  • Enable a user to access a Windows NT directory by making the user a member of the user group that has access to a selected directory.
