Most technical professionals are aware that their training included little or no preparation for dealing with people. Not too surprising, is it? Human beings are complex creatures and most people learn very little in their developmental years about interpersonal communication skills, managing relationships, preventing or resolving conflicts, getting commitments from others, or dealing with problem behavior. When you become a supervisor you somehow are supposed to have all of those skills!
