Course Overview
This is the third course in a ten part series for system administrators who are responsible for Domino server and Notes client. At the completion of this course, students will learn how to install the first server; and configure the server audience for the first server by using the Advanced Configuration setup method.

This course series is for system administrators who are responsible for Domino server and Notes client. Participants should have completed NETg course 13403, Lotus Domino R5 Development Part 1: Basic Concepts or have equivalent knowledge and have completed the first two courses in this series.

Course Contents
Unit 1: Setting Up Domino Servers
Duration: 3 - 4 Hour(s)- Install the first server.
- Configure the server audience for the first server by using the Advanced Configuration setup method.
- Configure the administration settings for the first server by using the Advanced Configuration setup method.
- Identify the prerequisites for configuring an additional server in the Notes/Domino infrastructure.
- Create Certification Log by using the menu bar in Notes R5.
- Create an organizational unit certifier ID by using the Tools pane in Domino Administrator.
- Register an additional server by using the Tools pane in Domino Administrator.
- Configure an additional server in an existing Notes/Domino infrastructure.
- Configuration setup method.
- Identify the tasks performed to troubleshoot a specified error message during the additional server setup.
Unit 2: Managing the Domino Environment
Duration: 3 - 4 Hour(s)- Identify the uses of Domino Directory.
- Select a view based on the type of information required.
- Select a view in the Server folder based on the type of information required.
- Select the type of Server Connection document in the Connections view based on a specific situation.
- Select the type of Domain document in the Domains view based on a specific situation.
- Match group types with their functionality.
- Create a group in Domino Directory.
- Set access permissions for a group by using the Access Control List.
- Select the correct combination of role and access level assigned to groups based on a specific situation.
- Identify the factors of mail routing in the Server Connection document used to specify a given piece of information.
- Schedule mail routing between servers in the same domain by using a Server Connection document.
- Identify the factors of replication in the Server Connection document used to specify a given piece of information.
- Schedule replication by using a Server Connection document.
