This is the third course in a five part series that will provide students with the knowledge to install, configure, administer and troubleshoot Microsoft SQL Server 7.0.
Learn To:
- Identify the concepts, interfaces and fixed roles involved in performing backups.
- Gain a working knowledge of database, transaction log and filegroup backups and perform these backups as a system administrator.
- Restore damaged or incomplete databases.

Unit 1: Backup Concepts
Duration: 2 - 3 Hour(s)- Match the backup type with its features.
- Identify the fixed roles with permission to perform backups.

- Identify the available media for database backup.

Unit 2: Performing Backups
Duration: 2 - 3 Hour(s)- Match the proper full backup frequency with its scenario.
- Perform the steps necessary to create a full database backup.
- Identify the scenarios for which differential backup would be appropriate.
- Perform the steps necessary to create a differential database backup.
- Identify the features of transaction log backups.
- Perform the steps necessary to back up the transaction log.
- Associate the options for clearing the transaction log with their functions.
- Identify situations in which filegroup backup is preferable to full database backup.

Unit 3: Restoring Databases
