An important distinction should be made between the content which this course covers and the content covered in Part 2 - Upgrading. This course covers restructuring a complete redesign of the domain structure, usually resulting in fewer, larger domains. Restructuring is accomplished when those responsible for the domain structure dissatisfied with it or who feel that they cannot manage an upgrade without serious impact to their production environment.

Unit 1: Restructure Strategy 3 - 4 hours
o Identify the implications of domain restructure.

o Identify the command to establish a trust relationship between domains by using NETDOM.
o Identify the command to migrate OUs from one domain to another by using Movetree.
o Identify the command to clone users by using ClonePrincipal.
o Migrate a group to a Windows 2000 domain by using ADMT.
o Migrate a user account to a Windows 2000 domain by using ADMT.
o Migrate a computer account to a Windows 2000 domain by using ADMT.
o Identify the tasks to be performed after migrating from Windows NT to Windows 2000.
o Configure a DACL for an OU by using the Properties dialog box.
o Identify the tasks to test the functionality of a network service in a situation.
o Verify the success of object migration for a specified scenario.
o Identify the tasks involved in testing the deployment of domain migration.
o Decommission source domains by using the Properties dialog box.
o Identify the tasks to be performed to develop an efficient backup procedure.
o Sequence the steps for making a backup of source domains to ensure recovery during a domain restructure disaster.
